What is Menopause?

Menopause is a natural transition in a woman’s life, marking the end of menstruation and fertility. It’s confirmed after 12 consecutive months without a menstrual period, typically occurring between the ages of 45 and 55. Although each woman’s experience is unique, menopause generally brings hormonal changes that affect more than just the reproductive system. The drop in estrogen and progesterone impacts bone health, cardiovascular function, and overall well-being. While menopause is a normal part of ageing, it can feel overwhelming. Symptoms vary, with some women experiencing mild discomfort while others face more challenging issues. These physical shifts, along with the emotional impact of leaving behind the reproductive phase, often bring feelings of loss, uncertainty, or frustration.

While menopause can feel daunting, it also marks a new phase of life, offering space for reflection, renewal, and self-care. This transition encourages you to rethink your relationship with your body and accept the changes, even when they are challenging. With the right support, menopause can become an empowering experience. This 77 page journal will guide you through the emotional and physical complexities of menopause. It provides a space to reflect, process your feelings, and find strength in the growth that accompanies this transition.

Please note that this workbook does not replace the support you may be receiving from a qualified mental health professional or therapist but it serves to compliment therapy and be part of your menopause care self-care.
